Arch Garrison – Leader of the North Sea Radio Orchestra, Craig Fortnam writes songs about the Mighty Thames, Roman Roads, ditches & mounds, vapour trails & mental un-health with Arch Garrison. Fans of North Sea Radio Orchestra have come to expect beautiful melodies, quality arrangements & chord progressions that make your insides go funny. These elements are all in abundance in Arch Garrison but this is a much sparser sound, with Craig’s instantly recognisable classical guitar playing combined with his trusty Philicorda organ.

Stephen EvEns (aka Stephen Gilchrist) has toured the world as an auxiliary cog in the machinery of major “indie-stardom” with the likes of Graham Coxon, The Damned & Charlotte Hatherley. Armed with a battered guitar & a casiotone, he has decided to take a walk through his own songbook for a change. His debut album “Bonjour Poulet” has been coaxed out by the sympathetic ears of Onomatopoeia records. It is a 43 minute song book mixing the spirit of Yo La Tengo & Ivor Cutler with broken friendships & human error.

Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th February 2017. Sutton House, London.

suttonharpsichord3webTwo truly special William D Drake events at Sutton House, this coming Saturday and Sunday. Performing new arrangements of music from his albums, including Sea Nymphs and tracks not performed live before, Mr Drake will be playing a beautiful 16th century style harpsichord, accompanied by Miss Nicola Baigent on clarinet and crumhorn, and Mr James Larcombe with his hurdy-gurdy. On both nights Mr Larcombe will open proceedings with a solo set on melodeon.

The concerts will take place in a wood panelled chamber in the Tudor part of the house; it is a very intimate space with only a small number of seats available for each night.

By way of a taster, see Mr Drake play ‘The Black Blooded Clam’ on the harpsichord at Sutton House (recorded last week) www.facebook.com/careinthecommunityrecordings
